I feel so grateful to be able to be a part of the learning community here at Wettel. I have been in education nearly 20 years. After graduating from Le Moyne College in 2005, I spent my first year out of college working as a one-on-one aide. The following year, I moved on to become a Special Education teacher. I stayed in that role for 15 years; providing various services including 15:1 ELA, Resource Room, Reading Intervention, and ELA Co-Teaching. I got my Masters from Le Moyne in 2010. In the Fall of 2021, I began teaching in the VVS District, where I worked as a Reading Interventionist for three years. In the Spring of 2022, and continuing until June of 2024, I also led the Elementary ELA Department as the Elementary ELA Teacher Leader for VVS. It was in this role that I realized I really enjoyed leadership, and so I pursued my CAS in School Building Leadership. I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue a rewarding career in education, serving the wonderful Vernon community.
